Ways to join Indian Air force
After 12th :
- NDA
NDA is a golden chance to aspire one’s dream to the defence forces of India.
It is conducted by UPSC twice a year in the major cities of the country
Eligibility Criteria :
- Age – 16 ½ to 19 ½ years (at the time of commencement of course)
- Nationality – Indian
- Gender – Men only
- Educational Qualifications – 10+2 with Physics and Mathematics.
It offers Permanent commission to the aspirants
After graduation:
If you are a graduate, you can go for 3 entries(2 test, 1 direct):
- CDSE:
It is also conducted by UPSC twice a year
Eligibility criteria:
- Age – 20 to 24 years
- Nationality – Indian
- Gender – Male
- Educational Qualification – Tech/B.E degree or Degree (with Physics and Maths in 10+2 level)
It offers Permanent commission
It’s a common entrance test conducted online by Indian Air Force for flying, technical and non-technical entries.
This Exam is conducted twice a year for inducting officers in flying and ground duties (technical and non-technical)
Eligibility criteria:
- Age –
for flying branch :- Between 20 to 24 years. The upper age limit for candidates having a Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is up to 26 years
for ground duties :- Between 20 to 26 years.
- Nationality – Indian
- Gender – both men & women can apply
- Educational Qualification – 10+2 with 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics (Compulsory)
BTech/B.E degree with 60% min. or
MBA/B.Sc/B.COM/MCA/M.Sc/MA with 60% min.
It offers both the Permanent Commission & Short Service Commission.
3. NCC:
One can join IAF through this entry also into the flying branch.
Eligibility: Degree in any discipline with 60% aggregate(physics and maths in 10+2)/B.E./B.TECH with 60% aggregate & Air Wing Senior Division ‘C’ certificate
Age – 19 to 24
Final year students can also apply.
